Photographer's Note
I was walking on Goat Rock beach on a truly awful weather day, when something (perhaps me) scared hundreds of gulls who were on the beach. Unfortunately, this was really the only shot I got - by the time I was ready for another one, they were all over the place.

Bonsoir, Roger.
J'aime beaucoup cette image avec la foule de mouettes.
Très jolie composition.
J'aime bien cet oiseau solitaire en haut à gauche qui se détache du groupe.

Hi Roger,
A little bit of Alfred Hitchcock going on here!? For having a large section of "dead space" this composition is actually quite interesting, especially considering the fact that you really didn't have time to really analyze the scene. Sometimes the worst of weather brings out the best in photos, and the choice of black & white enhances that element. Good light balance, the water is not blown out and the rock face has plenty of detail. Great capture of a spontaneous moment. Nice shot, love the title!
Regards,
Jason

Hi Roger,
Nice to capture this, it can be hard to get a large flock of birds into such a pleasing composition. Its a rather large flock too, I'd be quite glad that this gang were flying away from me!
Great choice of balck and white too, really suits the subject.
All the best
Noel
