Photographer’s Note
Convict Lake is located in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains near Bishop, California. The lake received its name from a group of convict escapees who were surrounded and captured here.
This photo shows Aspens in their fall colors reflected on the mirror like lake surface. I like the three people on the pontoon boat. The man fishing from the bow. The woman reading a book and the young lady gazing downwards into the water.

Hello Ray,
I like the colors, the reflections, and the trees the most in this image as they are bright and vivid. A grand shot here...

Hi, Ray,
This shot has several wonderful attributes.
The colors are glorious, especially as highlighted by a low sun angle (early in the day I'm guessing?).
Your framing is very well conceived, with a soft diagonal shore line and more of the frame devoted to the reflection than to the primary vegetation.
Even without the boat, this would be a special shot. Its addition, with the fine colors (especially that blue!) and the human interest is the feather in this photo's cap.
Very well done!
- William
