Photographer’s Note
High in the Sierra Mountains of California are many pastures containing cattle. This elevation is approximately 8,000 feet. Although in late July there was still evidence of snow as reflected in the background. The shot was taken just off US 395

The image has potential, with the three horizontal bands of color being quite appealing. Technically though, the colors are too saturated, the sharpness is poor and the sky reveals a lot of noise. With the gear you list here, this is not justifiable. As for the composition, the right side of the image looks pretty bland. I think that insisting onto the left side of the image, with the spectacular snowy mountains and a group of cows brought closer by a considerably tighter crop would have given you a much stronger image. You need a circular polarizer.

Hi,
I agree with Roly, colours are too saturated.
You know how they say: Cameras don't take pictures, photographers do.

Hallo Roger!
Wolfgang
