Photographer's Note

Intake 2 Reservoir is one of the small lakes created by damming the Eastern Sierra Nevada streams, as part of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power utility company's creation of water supplies for the thirsty growing Southern California, hundreds of miles a way.
A water aqueduct from Owens Valley to Los Angeles was completed in 1913.

The movie 'Chinatown' is part documentary on the water grab of Los Angeles City.
