Many moons ago I took my new bride tent camping in California's Eastern Sierra Nevadas. It was a mistake along with many others and the marriage did not last.
But.....I do not hold it against the Eastern Sierras, and return as often as I can.
Lake Sabrina is not too far from the town of Bishop, a good base-camp for exploring. This shot happened after an early October storm, depositing snow at higher elevations.

another amazing photo of quite severe landscape this time. I like the rough beauty of this place and how you presented it.
The composition is almost classic and gives very good view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Great colors and sharpness.
Thanks for sharing

great mountains landscape, well framed with this Fg with blue water and rockw, interesting contrast fall tones for the trees in the BG.

Odd how taking some women tent camping turns into the end of marriage. 5 Star hotels and catering services are definitely not worthy when it comes to spending a night out in this scene, even if it is snowy and cold. The Sierras, from the south to north, offer so many variables in the rock and their formations, and they are unlike any other range in the States if not in the world. The Devil's Peak area near Cisco Grove is another of those locales where you will find dynamic differences in the rock. Massive boulders, fields of fallen rock, and Devil's Peak itself being an ancient Cinder Cone that shares of lava patterns upon its surface on the very peak.
Solitude in God's World...

This is a beautiful one, especially with the lake spilling into the foreground all the way to the edges of your frame. It was a good idea to include some of the rocks in the foreground as it gives excellent depth to the scene. I like the subtle hints of orange on the slopes. I'm sure it was awesome to be there that time of the year, even if you were no longer in charming company. A great shot which conveys a good sense of the altitude.

Haha, your bride didn't like tent camping. She probably would prefer five stars hotel and paradise beach. I am sorry that your marriage didn't survive this test. I would be delighted with these views :). Looks pretty cold here, splendid landscape.
Warm regrads MAlgo

Good morning Ray,
High altitude lake, surrounded by rocks and just few trees, on a fine winter scenery.
I am sure on summer's the place looks a whole different.
Patchs of snow contrast well over grey amnd brown.Sharpness and depth collected well.
