Photographer’s Note
This must what a traffic jam looks like in Paradise...
No, not really. This is the daily reality of life for people who commute by automobile in the San Francisco Bay Area. On the left is the bay bathed in sunlight and on the right is the massive traffic that daily clogs U.S. Interstate 80.
This shot was taken near sunset on the bay shore in Berkeley this past Sunday, so it's not even work traffic (just people driving home or out for the evening).
The good news is that you'll notice a walking trail on the left, so you can walk or ride your bike rather than be stuck on the freeway. The path is part of the the San Francisco Bay Trail, a continuous 400-mile (644-kilometre) recreation ring encircling the entire Bay Area.

Our North American society is too keen on driving that we forget the benefits of riding bikes and the likes. Nice picture depicting life for many people who commute on a daily basis. Interesting theme. Thanks Jose.

Hey José,
I didn't mind any of those traffic jams during our trips in San Francisco. It's all scenic drive for me compared back here in Hong Kong. Just staring at this sunset sky reminds me of the beautiful all-year-round weather. Too bad this spring we didn't have time to pass SFO (huhuhu), its one of the best places in the US I would always like to visit!
Nave a nice weekend!

Hola Jose,
parece ser que los atascos son comunes en las grandes ciudades en Estados Unidos. Buena foto me gustan los colores del atardecer.
Un saludo

Hi José!
I think you could have not baptised this picture in a better way than you did it!
The light is really awesome, and the traffic jam, gives the counterpoint, it is just like you have offered two points of view in one, on the right a real common moment, rush life, work, persons tied to a schedule, and on the left side, the paradise, no watches, all day for us, to enjoy of our spare time...
Thanks for sharing it!
Take care amigo, hugs from BCN!

Hola José
En los Estados Unidos no pueden vivir sin coche.
It impressed me the big highways with several lanes and often full of cars (for example in LA area).
In your picture it's amazing how we don't see anybody it that nice bike lane.

Hallo Jose
Nice photo, with beautiful colors, and the straight trail gives a sense of distance. Very well done, and it also reminds me of the beauty of the Frisco Bay!
