This must what a traffic jam looks like in Paradise...

No, not really. This is the daily reality of life for people who commute by automobile in the San Francisco Bay Area. On the left is the bay bathed in sunlight and on the right is the massive traffic that daily clogs U.S. Interstate 80.

This shot was taken near sunset on the bay shore in Berkeley this past Sunday, so it's not even work traffic (just people driving home or out for the evening).

The good news is that you'll notice a walking trail on the left, so you can walk or ride your bike rather than be stuck on the freeway. The path is part of the the San Francisco Bay Trail, a continuous 400-mile (644-kilometre) recreation ring encircling the entire Bay Area.
