Photographer’s Note
This is my first attempt at using my new macro lens in the macro settings. I took about 30 shot of five or six of these little skipper over the space of an hour in the late afternoon sun. They were "feeding" on a big flowered bush. After I was all finished I noticed that I had not ingaged the VR capabilities of the lens. Oh well maybe next time.

Hi Dan,
Nice shot of this butterfly. The DOF works very fine and imo the bokeh is quite nice.
The sharpness and colours of the butterfly and flower are really nice. Good contrast between this little insect and the flower and BG.
Nice exposure. I think the [VR off] didn't matter for this case..right?
Don't know about the centered compo, cropping it so that it's in a corner can be nice..although it doesn't really hurt for this shot. Nice border.
TFS & Well done.

Hi Dan,
Nice shot! you must be pleased with your lens. I don't think engaging VR would have made any difference, as you used 1/200 (but interestingly, this was not short enough to freeze the proboscis movement) and the flower is sharp. Good work, TFS.
Cheers,
Catalin
