Photographer’s Note
Traveling through California is always a delight. Oil fields orchards, vineyards, coastlines et al, are all common in this beautiful state. However, pictures like this would not be possible without the irrigation, everpresent in the semi-arid settings of the state.

I've drvien through Bakersfield s few times I must look a bit closer next time, because this is the prettiest thing I have from Bakersfield. The way the waves of marigolds disolve into an ocean of yellow is quite attractive. The white puffy clouds finish the whole thing off very nicely.

Excellent colours, Roger. And I like the way you have framed it with the 50-50 spilt. Well seen.

hello, roger
seems like a perfectly photogenic place you've found here. classical golden field in the foreground, this time filled with marigolds. a beautiful setting indeed especially in contrast to the blue sky. a bit too centered for my taste though. also, i'm not sure whether the horizon is tilted or it's a slope of a hill, but, i guess, my eye would be happier if the edge of the field would be horizontal. other than those two nitpicky notes, my compliments.
kind regards,
kristaps
