Photographer’s Note
This is from the same location as the photo I posted yesterday, but with desert wildflowers included in this photo, based on some comments from yesterday saying that would be nice to see. So here it is, tell me if you like it better or not.
The yellow of the flowers does add color, and this one makes it look like a nicer place to visit (and have a picnic), but I couldn't show as much of the clouds since I don't have a wide angle lens. So the 3D effect isn't as much. I also think there may be too much symmetry in this shot, with 1/3 clouds, 1/3 hills, and 1/3 flowers horizontally, plus the flowers too centered. (I cropped out uninteresting flower stems and some dirt in the foreground, it was originally a vertical frame). Not to mention no attempt to change DOF. In case it looks like there is a tilt to the photo, I should say that the slight angle of the field of flowers from right to left is natural, since the valley is not completely flat.
What do you think? (I don't know how to make a link to yesterday's photo, sorry)

This is quite good. The cloud shadow on the mt adds a lot to this landscape that is very striking and well captured! I do not think the 1/3 symmetry interferes with the composition but one possibility is to place the rising flower off to the lower left or right so that it is not quite so centered.
I hope to travel here when the dessert is in bloom.

Hi Dave,
This is a big improvement from the one you posted the day before. The flowers add some much needed contrast to the other colors, and I feel the saturation has improved as well. I see what you mean about the clouds not popping out as much, but since the dramatic shadows are still showing on the hills, I think it's fine. It could still be interesting to play around with DOF; I think it might be nice to see what would happen to the photo if the very front flowers were blurrier. Also, to create a link you type in: < a href="insert web url here" >type for example yesterday's photo here< /a > except delete any spaces right inside the "arrows". I think I saw something on the FAQ page about this as well which might be clearer. TFS,

This is really beautiful with the contrasting yellow color of the flowers and the blue sky. The DOF is nice. I like the clouds and the shadows it casts on the hill. Great shot... deserves more points..TFS.
