This is the courtyard at Sam and Alfreda Maloof's historic residence in Alta Loma, California. There are docent led tours of the residence on Thursday's and Saturday's. You may also take a self-guided tour of the garden.
It's a beautiful place that showcases Sam and Alfreda's collection of art from their favorite artists, along with pieces that Sam himself has made over the years. He still lives on the property, in a new building with a different wife. Alfreda passed away in 1998. Sam's workshop is connected to the old house still and that's where he continues to make furniture. He's 92 years old. The great part about the old house is that it still feels like a home. Everything is as it was when they lived there and you can feel their presence in the place still.

This is an image that truly look great in dual tones because of the feeling you want to transmit. Black and white gives a sense of loneliness but also peace, and supernatural presence we can't see but is palpable in the place. Nice details and good light. The residence seem very pretty. Thanks Cheryl.
