Photographer’s Note
second post from our disappointing visit to Antelope Canyon (to read the story behind "disappointing" take a look at this photo). I wish I had a little more time in this particular spot, the tree trunk seemingly suspended in the air was fascinating, but the next herd of tourists was already stomping down the canyon, making the few of us with cameras and tripods flee in fright.
I have no difficulty believing that Antelope Canyon is the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest.

I read your story and feel your disappointment.
For someone who has never been there, it is instantly recognisable and still a great shot.

Hello Kristine,
I am very interested by your photos of antelope canyon. I can easily understand your frustration with the flow of tourists even if it is not visible on your shot. I think I would have been crazy in front of so beautiful subject to be move away.
Very good management of the light with a good balance between the shadow and the lighted area.

Ciao Kristine!
Sono estasiato per le bellissime forme e per i colori! Eccellente il gioco dei chiaroscuri che modellano la roccia! Magnifico quadro!

Hello Kristine -
Disappointing or not you have produced some marvelous images anyway. This one does not have the typical sun rays, but you have mastered the light, showed us the details, and then showed us something interesting. Well done!! Several smilies if I could.
Thank you for sharing.

I hate it when that happens. And after travelling miles with great expectations. Neverthless you still came out with some creditable images. Even without the beams you wanted, you have still got some wonderful light on the rocks. The tree trunk is a great addition too.

Hi Kristine,
In spite of your visit challenges, you have some fine images - this one being particularly unique with that log suspended up there. I like the light and colors. TFs. Gerald

Hi Kristine
Another very nice shot of the canyon. As I have heart it is not an easy task to take picture in here due to the contrast of the light. I like the little bridge crossing the canyon, ther two little dots near the center of the stick represent tow people crossing the bridge, hope it hold up till they are over.

Hi Kristine,
well apparently you've managed to salvage a few shots from this frustrating trip of yours. This one is definitely of my liking. Wonderful hues and lines all across the walls...and this stick is the frosting on the cake ;-) Works for me!

Hi Kristine,
Another nice shot from your dissapointing trip. I like the shot and think you did maximum to get this shot.
Have you got any recommendation for any trips around there? I am going there this September and hope that I will have chance to take some pictures there and what worries me are the crouds of people. Do I have to go there just with a guide or can I find any nice unspoiled places like that around?

Hi Kristine,
I really feel for you with that herd of tourists around you!! Still, you got a great shot. Yes, there are a lot of photographs of this canyon around, but I like the effect of that suspended tree trunk.
Have a great evening!

Hi Kristine,
I never tire of images of this place .. I love the range of tone you have .. beautiful colors and textures .. and that bit of tree really provides a scale lacking from so many images of this place. Tremendous!
take care,

Hello Kristine.
There are no words to do a critique to this shot.
Simply wonderful, with a perfect exposure in not easy conditions of light.
Best regards.

you should have grabbed that trunk and killed one of those tourists with point-and-shoots, so the rest of them would have run away and you wiould have had the best shots!>:PPP... but dont worry, this one is still magical...

Hello Kristine,
The beautiful ochre shades of the canyon so well captured, and the tree providing an eye-catching contrast that brings the view to life. A pleasure to look at.

Hi Kristine,
the disappointment cannot be seen in here :) Yes, I have seen this before in here and everywhere else but I must admit that yours is one of the few ones who deserves some attention. It's such an interesting site and that's probably the reason for massive presence of the tourists. Very well collected light and shapes. Great job!
Regards,
Carlos
