Photographer’s Note
This is the Seventeeth of Twenty Four of my Grand Canyon Series.
While walking along the Bright Angel Trail at the south rim I came across this beautiful dead tree with very graceful lines. After appreciating it, I took a picture. I wish I knew what kind of tree it is and how old. The textures on the trunk and the branches are exquiste. Along the inner part of the south rim are various evergreen trees and wild shrubs and flowers. There are beautiful things to take a picture of, but most people see only the views of the canyon. I do not blame them it is awesome.

An unusual capture in the Grand Canyon. One doesn't normally see the Grand Canyon in black and white. The highlights are caught well here and the composition is great. Nice tone on the greys. Good work

Hi Andre,
A great composition in the B&W format. I like how your framing and tight cropping have provided a dramatic impact here. One can see every sinuous limb and the scarred and gnarled trunk of this fascinating tree. One can almost reach out and touch the branches and feel the texture. Very fine work, Andre.
