Photographer's Note
I’ve been through this corner of the state seemingly hundreds of times, and it never gets boring…unlike the rest of the drive between Phoenix, Las Vegas and Salt Lake!? It really is a beautiful stretch of the American Southwest landscape, even if it is brutally hot during the summer months...and still worth getting out of the car to snap a few shots!
Interstate 15 (I-15) is an Interstate Highway, running from San Diego, California, United States, to the Canadian border, through Mohave County in northwest Arizona. Despite being isolated from the rest of Arizona, in the remote Arizona Strip, and short in length at 29.43 miles (47.36 km), it remains notable for its scenic passage through the Virgin River Gorge. The highway heads in a northeasterly direction from the Nevada border northeast of Mesquite, Nevada, to the Utah border southwest of St. George, Utah.
The south portion of I-15's route was built close to the alignment of the old U.S. Route 91 (US 91), but the northern section, through the Virgin River Gorge, was built along roadless terrain. The southern section of the highway was complete and open in the early 1960s, but the gorge section was inaccessible until 1973. When it opened, the Virgin River Gorge passage was the most expensive section of rural Interstate per mile.

hi Jason,
Very impressive landscape, and it does look like a very hot place. I dont cope too well in heat, but I think even I would have to get out to take some snaps of this natural wonder. It really looks like Road Runner country too, I'm scanning the image looking for Wiley Coyote, or perhaps an Acme anvil van :)
meep meep
Cheers

Jason,
impressive view and well captured. I like the tight frame you used in here. Very good colors and despite their monotony the picture is not boring at all. Good depth and sharpness.
Well done

Hi Jason,
Like an open Geology book, the layeres one on top of an older one looks colorful and impressive.
Masterfully you managed to place so many diff. rocks and soil textures, from yellow sand in FG, red stones on mid pic. and the massive rocks built this ridge.
Amazing nature.

Hi Jason,
You have great photos from all over the world, but especially I love these from United States. For me, it is different & undiscovered land. Mountains, national parks, prairies... Absulutely fabulous. In this photo you present nice landscape that I see sometimes in western movies.
Congratulations!!

Hi, Jason,
Fantastic landscape... I'd like just walking and walking around... with camera or not. Scorpions told their emotions from helicopter over Arizona. I can see them.
Thanks for your presentation of the nature in your State! )))
Have a great new week!
