Hello all, my visit to the Sonoran desert in southern Arizona was such a surprise to me as I did not realize the extent and abundance of life to be found in the desert. This area on the outskirts of Tucson is a riparian area so there are trees and birds and a lot of green at the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. This state park has over 5,000 saguaro cacti although this trail hosted saguaro in the opposite direction that I took my photo. Catalina state park is an arroyo, and has vernal pools year round. I did not get a chance to hike to that area of the park.
Have a great day

Fine view with the pathway through the cacti and desert tree landscape, then the distant textured mountain background.
One of my favorite desert animals is the Roadrunner bird and their darting movements across the land.
Thanks for sharing,

Beautiful shot of the desert landscape full of live, even if it is dry and arid, nature has a way to survive in many unthinkable place. Nature is so resilient. What I also like here is the sky, not the typical clear cloudless that we normally see out there. The timing is perfecct with very low warm light and the purple tone in the mountain and sky is lovely.
