Jason shows archive photos from Europe, so I can post something from Arizona. I travelled a lot through Arizona and what a pity I didn't know Jason that time! We could make some trip together. And another shame, I went by his home cities, Salt Lake City and Phoenix just close by but without stopping :((. The only towns I visited for short stops were Flagstaff and Tucson.
I suppose this is Pima County Courthouse - the former main county courthouse building in downtown Tucson. It was designed by Roy Place in 1928 in Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture.
probably Jason takes for granted the view of cacti on the lawns but for me it was such a delight.

I think when Jason wakes up he will be so happy to see our tributes ;)
Yes, this style really reminds me Spain and our walks with Manuel and Luis. Very nice soft colours combination, perfect DoF!

A very pleasant shot from your archives. I like the point of view, which shows the interesting architecture to good effect, whilst the trees help create a feeling of depth. Pleasantly lit with agreeable colours and good sharpness.

we are neighbors today on the new gallery page :)
I'm sure Jason will approve of this photo and the dedication to him, its always nice to receive them!
and yeah, too bad you didn't know about Jason at the time, and i'm not sure if you're ever going to head back to Arizona are you?
its always difficult to photograph subjects in this hot sun and light, but it looks great. very pretty with the palm trees too.
see you around

Buon fine settimana

This is a great way to start my day! Thank you so much, it puts a smile on my face this morning, especially seeing that this was taken on my birthday! :))
It really is a pity we didn't know each other when you traveled through Arizona. I had a lot of fun with Serghei, and I'm sure we would have had just as much! You know, after being here for a decade now I'm afraid I have taken the landscape for granted, I pretty much have cactus burn-out at this point!?
Refreshing to see a picture from Tucson, they're hard to find. You see, it's a running joke locally...Tucson is considered the red headed step child of Phoenix, they're the butt of many jokes. lol
This is a beautiful building though, one that might even influence me to drive down for a quick visit...but not in September, still too darned hot!! Love the salmon color against the blue sky and green palms, very much that typical desert setting.
I'd love to write more in appreciation, but I'm already late for work so I need to head out the door now. Thanks again my friend. Have a wonderful weekend.
Cheers from the Grand Canyon state,

Fine panorama of the multiple faceted Pima County Courthouse architecture. The wide entry of multiple arches with end anchor classical buildings, then the larger main building with varying features - octagons, Moorish like dome, palm trees, etc., then in a pastel pink paint job, all make for an unusual yet appealing government structure.
I plan to see in person on my next visit to Tucson.
and have a rewarding and fun weekend,
PS: I have a framed photo enlargement of a Mule Deer hanging on my living room wall. Perhaps its name would be more appropriately "Elephant Ear Deer" ?

Impressive pink building. It looks great with the palm trees around. Fine sunny day scene, well taken.

What a lovely building. The architecture and colors are really great. I like all of the arches, and the artistic dome on top. Your presentation, with the tree branches framing the top is very nice, too. With the palm trees and Spanish style, this is so typically southwestern US.

An interesting building in very attractive pastel colours. The green vegetation looks good against the pink building. An interesting note too.

The color wonderful and so unusual! A classical design building, but in Barbie pink, that's something you don't see everyday. Lovely idea to fill the upper part of the frame with the trees, which serve to add color and also to shield what looks like very hard light. Fine view of this building, and those trees make me ache for a holiday!
All the best

How wonderful picture, beautiful building, which stands in the beautiful dome, which seems to cover tiles, elegant palms, complete box and a fantastic POV, by including these branches of the tree, on top of the image, gives great beauty and originality to the composition.
A colorful perfect very natural.
A bright image with optimum clarity.
Good job. I love it.
Enjoy a good weekend.
Best wishes, my friend.

nice photo of this building. I like the details on the building dome. Curious the street so empaty, where were the people?

Hello Malgo - a really beautiful piece of architecture here; ironic that Arizona can boast such a beautiful domed building, yet its state capitol building is far less stately and grand... the tree cover is really nice, with bright colors and good midday light. Thanks!

A pink Court House, Mmmm, interesting colours for a public and official building.
Great architecture in this building, love the dome and carvings or plaster mouldings.
Great Pov, well managed, the guy coming towards us on his bike, is great.
Have a splendid weekend,

Frankly Malgo, I have a picture of this building from 7/1978 when I was in Tucson, and was impressed by the style and beauty of the edifice. Have to find this in my alboms and scan.
Fine POV well placed elements over pic. space.
Enjoy your weekend,

Kaisa71 (228) 2014-03-02 11:56
I first thought the photos has been taken in Islamic country but it is from Tucson! The whole photo area is sharp and depth is good as well. Branches at the top of the image look great and make the photo much more interesting. Nicely framed.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Malgo - This may be the US but the architecture definitely has something European about it, doesn't it? I like the palette of colours very much and the light and composition give the image an airy open atmosphere. Very attractive. Warm regards Rosemary

Now, this is a very beautiful building and look at that dome. I would not expect to find such patterns in the US.
The picture is pin sharp and presented in beautiful natural colours.
An attractive framing with the branches on top.
And yes, I also love the view with the cacti and the palmtrees in front of the building.
Best regards, Paul
