Photographer’s Note

This is a desert wash in the Saguaro National Park in Tucson, Arizona. A wash is an area or channel that is created when flooding occurs on a desert plain. The ground does not easily absorb water so there is a large amount of runoff, particularly in mountainous areas like Tucson. This particular site is only a short walk from the visitors center. It's well worth the visit if you're in the Tucson area.
