Photographer’s Note
The contemporary Pow Wow is a link to the past that helps maintain Native American heritage. Seen by outsiders as entertainment due to the singing, dancing and colorful regalia, the Pow Wow is a spiritual legacy which should be treated with respect and honor. It is a time for Native American families to be together with other family members and friends. It is a time of sharing, of laughter and tears, of learning, and of caring. It is a time when Native Americans reflect on their traditions. It is a time to honor the past and celebrate the future.

Hi Mark,
I like your photo very much, especially the way the dancing form a sort of s shape on the grass. It's nice to see children dancing, too! The colours are nice, and the sharpness is good. The only thing that distracted me was the 'audience' at the top. I did a workshop to see if I could crop it out. Hope you don't mind. I really like this image.
Sarah

Plus points: Wonderful composition, blurring of the feathers adds dynamism, life; vibrant colors
Neg points: Background filled with legs, the second performer's eyes a bit more obscured by the headgear
