Photographer’s Note
The famous red rocks of Sedona, Arizona and the equally famous Catholic Chapel which is visited by many on a daily basis.
The chapel in Sedona is an architectural marvel. As one approaches Sedona by road, the chapel can be seen perched high up on a hill side, seemingly part of the red rock basin.
As one parks in the parking lot and looks up,the sheer simple beauty of this building growing out of the rocks is simply marvellous.
The building design is one of simplicity and elegance. Two slabs of concrete joined in the centre by dark coloured plate glass. No other adornment is necessary, sitting as it does as part of nature's design.

Hi Joni,
Compelling subject. Again these arrow straight architectural lines juxtaposed against the natural rock surroundings are quite an interesting contrast to my eye. I love the way you basically have three bands of wonderful color from green to red to that brilliant blue sky. I think that this is one example where a plain blue sky works best. For me, the simplicity adds to the graphic impact. I think the presence of clouds might have diminished the image a bit. That new camera is in good hands :)
Cheers!

Hello Joni, I agree with Bobs' comments.
How imaginative of the architect and church people to think of placing the church just here.
A lovely photo with good colour, sharpness and POV.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Seen from that low angle, the church appears majestic.
Your composition including the bushes at foreground is lovely.
