Photographer’s Note

This is taken from the Cow Pies hike in Sedona. The blue of the sky here was made even more intense by the red rok all around. We went here in September, which is still their monsoon season - and pretty much every day we could see thunder storms. In the back of this picture, you can see one as it begins to build.

Hi, Ryan,
Lovely natural colours in this shot, such a relief!
The stark isolated tree is perfectly placed in the composition, the towering rock on the right balances the dark bushes on the left; the clouds, the bare branches and the pale debris establish a strong diagonal while the narrow strip of stony foreground parallels the central layer of stones which leads the eye round to the entrance to the valley.
Altogether a lovely picture. Thanks for sharing,
