Photographer’s Note

Here's another shot of Cathedral Rock from Red Rock Crossing, in Sedona, AZ. I was hoping to get a smooth reflection on the waters, but the wind and ripples just wouldn't cooperate. Cathedral Rock offers one of the best sunset views in Sedona. Hope you like this landscape shot in portrait version. Happy Holidays!

Nice shot - good composition & framing, the strong saturated colours are another strong point, perhaps not to everyone's taste but I like them. It reminds me of the kind of colours that result from cross-processing slide film.

The reflection may not be perfect, but the wavy reflections are more interesting anyways! I like the saturated colour in this, and the classic composition. Well done!

Hi Alford. That's some whopping nice scenery you've got there. The portrait orientation was the way to go to get a strong foreground as well as the reflections. It looks like you used a polarizer but I'm not sure. Another beautiful shot Alford!

The upper part is IMHO a bit overexposed.

Hello, Alford--
Nice work on this one--i almost think that i like it more as it is now than if you had had a smooth reflection, i think that the contrast between the sharp foreground rocks and grass that you include and the soft reflection is great, and the foreground items help tie back to the sharp background. The colors are very well saturated as well.
