On the Rocks, Oak Creek Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is another in a series of shots that I took of Oak Creek Canyon. This shot was taken in Slide Rock Park. Families come here to picnic and slide on the smooth rocks in the water. More about Oak Creek and the Canyon are reflected in my previous post.

Hi Roger,
Oak Creek Canyon... Whenever in the neighborhood you'll usually find me a couples miles further down, jumping from those rocks at Grasshopper Point... Being very familiar with and absolutely loving the Sedona area, I consider your effort excellent in depicting nature and local atmosphere. Too bad Sedona's turning into a concrete elephant burial site, but I reckon and hope Oak Creek Canyon will be spared. Lack of room will probably prevent it from getting all littered up with those damn condos.

Very nice point of view. The picture must be even more interesting in a bigger format. I like all the details like the little kid sitting in the water. We can call this a scene, because i think everythig has the same importance and there's no focal point. Bravo! C'est une belle photo.

Hi Roger,
Lovely summer time shot of the gentle stream that is full of a wonderful variety of colors as it flow past is natural frame of rocks and lush greenery.
The child sitting in the middle of the stream gives this one a very warm feel.

Hi Roger,
I like this one the best of the three OCC works; I think it's the way the creek is framed with greenery that enhances the color of the water and the way you framed the creek as a strong diagonal.
I grew up in Winslow AZ, and we always enjoyed the drive through Oak Creek, at the time there was no bridge, and we enjoyed leaning with the curves. The water was also very nice in the days before air-conditioning.
