Purple mountains form the backdrop for the sagebrush and cactus filled landscape of Arizona's McDowell Mountain Ranch, just East of Scottsdale. reposted after adjusting sharpness and the crop to fit the rule of thirds: approx 1/3 foreground, 1/3 mountains, 1/3 sky.

I was there once if I remember right (I drove from Vegas to Yuma then to San Diego). Anyway this picture shows the atmosphere I remember from this trip. Maybe I would have cropped a bit the sky but this is a question of personal taste.

I may have drive through this area once. Good detail and nice subbject. A little cloud would balance more of the composition.
