Photographer’s Note
"Silent Eyes
Burning in the desert sun
Halfway to Jerusalem
And we shall all be called as witnesses
Each and ev'ryone
To stand before the eyes of God
And speak what was done"
-Silent Eyes, Paul Simon
this is a hotel in downtown Phoenix, I loved the repetition of the windows, they look like eyes peering down watching us on the sidewalks...

Hi Jennifer
Great graphical shot. It has the effect of one of those pictures where you have to try and see a hidden one. Excellent choice of B&W to accentuate the contrasts and shadows.

Great shot, with nice and original repetitive patterns. I'm surprised to learn that this is an hotel! Good impact in this photograph, well done Jennifer.

Hi Jennifer. A well-seen detail from the hotel exterior, where the windows make a compelling pattern that is rendered almost in a 3D fashion. The diagonal angle adds further interest compared to the way which a fully symmetric showing of this array of windows would look like. Good shot. I added it to my song title theme, if you don't mind.

Jennifer,
Very nice graphic image. In the thumbnail it was hard to tell if this was windows, ceramic roof tiles, or something else. I imagined that the mystery would clear up when I saw it in a larger form, but it actually remains pretty ambiguous (without your notes) which is nice.
I love the fact that, without knowing what it is we're looking at, the scale is impossible to guess. Are those semi-circles four centimetres across, or four metres?
Jean Francois has a picture in a similar spirit called Nikko encore et encore that is well worth a look.

A beautiful image of what must be an ugly building. Great use of repeating patterns. I like the angle you've choosen, giving the uniform fassade some tension with the diagonals and perspective.
Your Phoenix travelogue has interesting b&w images, great work!

This is a really good abstract image but I have to admit that when I first looked at it yesterday I just didn't get it! Now that I see your follow up post, well it all makes sense!
Good use of B&W again.

Hi Jennifer,
I was going through your gallery today and came away thoroughly impressed. Some excellent graphical shots, perhaps none better than this. Wonderful repetitive patterns. You have a wonderful pair of eyes to catch these 'eyes'!
