.. and you succeeded. The shot is really.. mysterious. I like the deep contrast of the black & white and the strange perspective u gave to the shot.

Very dramtic angle, and the building is certainly dark and foreboding. Along with the B&W finish, this has the feel of an old horror movie. Perhaps that's just the cinema connection coming through in my jumbled subconcious.
The burned-out sky doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the photo, which is a shame. A thundercloud would have looked better. I'm sure if you had hung around for a couple of weeks there would have been one. No patience, photographers these days.
My other niggle is that it seems over-sharpened (or resized with a poor averaging algorithm), as there are nasty jaggies along edges of high-contrast.

Wow! You pulled off a fantastic point of view along with an amazingly dramatic image. This is a very powerful shot Jenny. Kudos! :)

i like this shot the best of the two you uploaded. I think this one has a better sense of forboding presence.
You might be able to crop the upper sky a bit to take away from the over bright sky, or a graduated filter in PS. I did a w/s on it, but I will have to post it tomorrow b/c I am already at my limit today.

Well, Miss Muffin, I think you succeeded in making it look dark and mysterious--the tilt suggests disorientation, and the tight framing ensures there is no context to help us get reoriented.
I think this one might look even better if you added a frame to set it off. But some on TE don't like frames, so you can't please everyone. Just please yourself. Regards, Ken.
