Photographer’s Note
this was on a rainy day adventure in downtown phoenix, i was driving down through a shady part of town after visiting a japanese garden, and i saw this abandoned diner...
"I was at an all night diner
The sign said "Triple X"
But they were talking about root beer
I'm just sitting down
Thinking about nothing
Looking at the thin air
Breathing up the oxygen"

Very good shot Jen! Welcome back! How are ya these days?
I love the high contrast bleakness, the empty lot, no evidence of life. Really moody. Well done! The tilt is great too.
Hope you're back to stay :)

Jennifer,
Really good shot.
I love the desolation of it. I passed by that way many years ago and this image is very reflective of what I remember.
I'm glad that places like this haven't all died and turned into McDonald's and Motel 6s (and since so many of them are, it's great that you're out there recording them while they're still around).
The tilt gives it a nice casual look (and a slightly falling down appearance that suits your subject) and I love the high contrast. Lastly, the palm in the background gives the image a nice, subtle centre.

P.S. The lyrics are a nice touch -- very appropriate.

It's like something you'd see in an older movie shot in the western USA - when I say older I'm talking about 60's or 70's. These unique, old-style diners in remote places along the highway somewhere.
Good B&W shot, lots of contrast & the tilt is interesting too, it evokes an idea of shooting past quickly in a car.

Hi Jennifer
You have a very unique eye. This shot i love in B&W. Looks like something out of the latest Halloween movie - very horror filmish. It is also very grainy but I actually think it suits your shot. Great composition. Congratulations on your special shot!
Take care,
Tosca
