Photographer’s Note
Hello TE Friends!
I thought this is a good beginning of my upcomming posts of my trip to the United States! I´m still in the USA, but this is my first post. It´s from Horseshoe Bend near the little town `Page´ in Arizona. It is located slightly downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, about 6 km south of Page. Accessible via a 1.2 km hike from U.S. Route 89, it can be viewed from the steep cliff above, forming a spectacular vista. I went there with my family and I wanted to go closer to the edge but I wasn´t allowed to because of my parents, so I couldn´t get the whole ring of the Colorado River. It´s just beautiful to be there and I think, if you come into this region you must visit it. Even though it´s quite strenous to get there because of the sandy path it is really worth it.
Hope you enjoy my first shot from my newest trip,
Best regards from very sunny Arizona,
Kris

Kris,
you will have to go back there once you are on your own, without your parents. You only saw half of paradise ... !!! Anyway, I like what you did here. The comprehensive view including the distant landscape is something that we don't see quite often at shots done of this place.
You might consider correcting the slight vignetting that you got in the upper corners.
I hope you're having a lot of fun during your trip and don't miss Antelope Canyon!!!

Hello Kris,
A most interesting landscape!
It is a nice mindgame trying to imagine how this peculiarity of nature was created, one is for sure it makes a great subject for photography...
Good natural colours and fine details, and parents always interfere hehehe!

Hi Kris,
If i never been there myself i would say wow, but i have been there and know how difficult the place to put an excellent image from it. You need extreme wide-angle lenses to show the whole place in all his beauty. Light was also not at his best i think, it's hard, but still with a lot of detail. You also stood not on that only spot to trying to make the circle complete with the view down, but seeing this it's also something i like to see with the rocks in the left bottom corner. Maybe a bit to much sky and a slight vignette, but i like the overal view. It's very hard to make a superb picture here, so therefor my complments, you've done well.
I put the picture in the Horseshoe Bend theme.
How was your own wow feeling standing there...mine was a BIG wow ;-)
Regards, Henk

Hello Kris,
I am a very great fan of the Grand Canyon mountains, only the colours and the fantastic relief, make this picture very attractive.
Excellent perspective through the both rivers, this gives nice depth.
Composition and presentation are very well.
Best regards,
John.

Hallo Kris,

Jonas

Kris,
This is good quality image, and you're only 14, my goodness. I have much admiration for you and your brother, Mark for pursuing your hobby and interest in photography and movie making. I can imagine how excellent you will be when you get older. This shot has very nice perspective, the sharpness and clarity is good. Very nice warm color and you managed well with the strong light. Good composition. I like the rich color of the river. The distant landscape is not as sharp, but you improve the more you do it. Keep taking photos and making your movies. If you keep it up, I think one day you will becomes a great photographer or a movie maker. Then I can say I knew you when you were just 14. Thanks, my little young friend. I will put you on my favorite along with your brother because I know you will be great one day and I can tell people, "I told you so."
