This light green plant caught my attention while hiking back from horseshoe bend. It was mid-morning light and not too harsh, but the tempertures were beginning to soar.

This is a very fine landscape. You've done a great job capturing the wonderful colors there. You've captured it at a particularly good time of year for the plants. I especially like how you've framed it with the Vermilion Cliffs and the edge of Horseshoe Bend in the background.
Don't know what that plant is(I should find out) but it is all over the place up in that area. It stands out because, to me anyway, it looks bluish against the bright orange-red ground. Like you, I photographed it at Horseshoe Bend but I never framed them as well as you have in this nice composition. About the best example I ever got was near an obliging rock formation northwest of Page,AZ on the Utah side north of the Vermilion Cliffs:
