Photographer's Note
Warning: I have several photos of Antelope Canyon that I will posting in the near future. This beautiful canyon is practically in my backyard (okay, 250 miles from Las Vegas) but I’ve never heard of it until the first week July 2010. When I visited two weeks later I learned that between 3 to 5 millions people visit the canyon every year and most of them are from foreign countries. During my visit I saw people from Germany, Italy, UK, South Koreans among others. This canyon is truly amazing and it’s no wonder it’s a popular tourist attraction and known worldwide except by me in Las Vegas. How pathetic is that of me? If you wish to visit Antelope Canyon I recommend taking the 2 ½ hour photographic tour of the upper canyon. Reservation for the tour is highly recommended.

Hi Eleu,
That's one of the richest composiitons of Antelope Canyon I've seen so far. The angle is exceptional. :-)
There seem to be two tiny issues: One is related to the texture: it looks grainy, as if that me related to the ISO setting of 450.
Another one, is the existence of a couple of over-exposed spots. Could this be fixed by the choice of the hour of the shot? The upper bright part can be avoided by a cropping, IMHO.
Thanks for sharing and the valuable advice.
Cheers,
Erdem

Hello Eleu,
I discovered Antelope Canyon here on TE. It's an attractive subject for photographers. But I've never been in that part of our world.
So far from all the pictures I've seen of it, I find this one of the best. The canyon seems to be a complicated series of coves, caves and extensions, with splendid curves, lines and colours. And the red colour is just great!
Well done !
Best regards, Paul

Hello Eleu, Well it is in my backyard, about a 4-5 hour drive. I was there three years ago and some Native Americans took us on a tour of the area. I have several 100 pictures, but also a very dusty camera. You have done a fine job with this photo, albeit in my opinion it is oversaturated. The color is far more vivid than what I saw there. Despite that, it is an excellent shot. Did you also take a boat trip on Lake Powell, the boat also goes to the area, but you cannot view the canyons as well as with the Native American tours. Regards, Roger

Hi Eleu.
Ahhh, Antilope Canyon! I've seen a lot of great pictures from it, but this is one of the best. What I like is the many textures and the warm, strong colors. Well captured. For sure one of my favorite places in USA. You're lucky to live that close. Thank you also for the note. I'm looking forward to see more in the following days!
Have a nice day,
Fredrik

Hi Eleu,
It is not the first photo which I see of this canyon, but this one is really wonderful.
The rock became a fantastic satin tissue which seems to dance around a princess.
Great shot, congratulations

Hallo!
Nice tones here, and rather different picture that the many others I've seen of the same object. I like the way you saturated and contrasted the image

Hi Eleu,
Beautiful shot of Antelope Canyon.I like the color tone but perhaps you should cropped off the top. The grain here actually works really well and goes with the sandstone grain.
Well done!

Hi Eleu,
I had never heard of Antelope Canyon until I signed on to TE - I started off commenting on quite a few of the first photos I saw which had a natural wow-factor. This one of yours though is the first I have commented on in a long time. You have managed to produce a fresh and original shot of a much photographed site - so genuine wow factor here, not just the wow of the new.
Thanks and regards, Iain

Magic. You've got some Martian landscapes in your backyard, hehe)) It's an amazing play of lines and a great variety of reds interwoven with some other hues. Someone above said it's oversaturated, I wonder, if it looked more attractive with less saturation.
