Monument Valley sunset in December.

Monument Valley is located along the Arizona-Utah state line, just about 25 miles north of the small town of Kayenta, Arizona. This photo is looking north, with the butte (actually the famous right mitten, though you can't tell from this angle) in the foreground in Arizona and the butte formations behind it in Utah.

Hello Greg,

There is impressive depth-of-field in this image, but also a demonstration of light depreciating with distance. Like a mirage, the "monuments" in the background appear to rise out of the desert floor.
