A late afternoon view of Monument Valley. The Totem Pole is on the far right, next to Yei Bi Chei with the Hunts Mesa in the background. The Totem Pole is approx. 137m (450ft) high and 12m (40ft) wide.

Alors on poste des couleurs de feu pour oublier ces multitudes de petits flocons blancs qui bloquent tes touristes ?
Effet recherche atteint, c'est chaud meme en plusieurs nuances de couleur, si chaud que meme Clint Eastwood a du aller se mettre a l'ombre hors de portee de ton objectif ;-)
Bizzz, reprends donc un bon chocolat chaud !

You captured this famous point under a perfect sunsety light. The black cloud in the upper right corner balances very well the rest of the picture.

You won't get me complaining it's over-saturated. I've seen with my own eyes the vivid colours any time of day, but even more so in setting or rising sunlight. You make me yearn to be back there. I made a slideshow set to a Fistful of Dollars.

Hi Nikki,

this was a tough one to make with that harsh light, but you got it well! I like the dark f/g and that dark patch of clouds to contrast the strong orange. Nice shot.

Plus je vois tes images sur Monument Valley, plus je me dis que j'ai vraiment manqué quelque chose. En effet, j'avais été super déçu lors de mon passage alors que l'endroit a vraiment l'air fantastique.

An amazingly contrasty landscape shot of this beautiful place. The sky is wonderful especially with the added feature of the black clouds in the top corner giving an overall balance. The colours are simply stunning, it must have been an experience to actually have been there and to feel the atmosphere.

Hi Nikki,

This is a great sunset shot, without the sun, of course. The light is at a good angle to fire those monuments up so beautifully. Good job catching it!

I like the pov, as well, with that big partly cloudy sky dominating the frame to offset your fiery monuments.

les differents tons d'oranges fonctionnent bien dans cette photo, et pour une fois, le ciel n'est pas trop satueé, comme on a l'habitude de le voir sur la plupart des photos de cet endroit, le rendu final est tres naturel.

clasic view, and therefore timeless, I can look at the photos of this place again and again, and never get bored. love the fiery light, and how the dark cloud is right atop the Totem pole, like an inverted exclamation mark. great shot.

Les Etats-Unis...une nation jeune qui manque en apparence, de sites "historiques". Mais elle est là, leur histoire, dans la nature! Dans ces paysages qui semblent ne pas avoir bougé depuis des temps immémoriaux! Et s'il faut en croire le flamboyant de la roche, (stupéfiant)... les peaux rouges doivent paraître comme des visages pâles en regard! J'aime beaucoup la chaleur des couleurs, bien saturées. Félicitations!

Elles donnent vraiment envie d'aller sur la côte Ouest tes images et celle-ci et ne déroge pas à la règle.
La lumière est superbe.
Dommage ce petit nuage en haut à droite qui attire l'oeil, mais c'est la jalousie qui me fait chipoter :)

Salut Nikki, you really do know your desert shots. This is beautifully sharp, saturated and exposed. The light and extreme shade in the FG would have been difficult but you've overcome that effortlessly. The image looks almost 3D, it's wonderful, congratulations and best regards, Lisa

Hello Nikki,

there are literally thousands of Monument Valley photos, but this one I like because of its compo - if the large space given to sky was of another colour, I would think it´s a photo of some other planet.

estas caprichosas formaciones rocosas, tan bien conocidas en todo el mundo, siempre nos ofrecen su gran fotogenia, y en tu foto las has captado bajo una luz crepuscular y unos tonos rojos magníficos.
La composición es muy elegante y atractiva.
