Photographer’s Note

It's been lovey dovey this spring and the mourning doves have taken up residence in a number of my hanging baskets, which are my way of avoiding providing gourmet food for the cotton tails and jack rabbits.

Nature triumphs however when the urge to reproduce hits the doves, quails, house finches, kildeer and our other local avian friends.

Since this photo, the eggs have hatched and I have a photo of the offspring for to-morrow's alloted posting, the mother shown is one of four becoming parents around my home, many times the cactus wrens raid the nests and limit production. The many birds are attracted by the plentitude of food on the ground from the acacia giants on my property.
