For all of those who have been kind enough to follow along, just a quick note to say that I’ll be absent for the next little while. Unfortunately my home was burglarized yesterday…not only was everything left in complete disarray, but ALL of my camera equipment was stolen…every last item I owned. They even took an old 35mm film camera I had packed away in a closet!?
I’ll be quite busy in the weeks ahead trying to get everything back in order. I apologize for not being able to respond to any recent comments …as you can imagine, I was ‘out of sorts’ dealing with the situation, filling out a police report and feeling generally uneasy all evening. Sure wish they would have at least done the dishes while they were in the house. It was Halloween…take the candy, leave my gear! They can’t steal my stupid sense of humor though!
See you again soon…

what can I say, I am so sorry and really do wish you all the best. It is not only the loss of items that gets to you but the knowledge that someone was in your property leaves you feeling uneasy and vulnerable. Glad to see your sense of humour is not diminished though. Sending you good vibes and a man-hug. Super Cactus this in a stunning setting.
Take care - Brian.

Despite your misfortune with the burglars you still have a good sense of humor which I admire. Once I came home after a holiday and my front door was partially destroyed by burglars. They didn't enter my home because they heard my neighbors coming but I thought this was already bad enough. Hopefully your insurance covers these costs.
You still have the courage to upload already a new picture.
I doubt a bit if I should say that the blue lake, the small marina and the mountains make a stunning backdrop for the picture of this giant cactus. Or does this cactus provide a good foreground for the beautiful nature image behind it ?
No matter, this is a very nice, clear, well composed picture of Arizona that is different of the image that many Europeans have of that state.
Best regards, Paul

I´m really sorry for You my friend! One good thing in this misfortune is that you´re safe and sound. But of course the loss of all your most valuable goods is not something you´ll pass over it lightly.I keep my fingers crossed for the police to find your belongings soon.
And this cactus would be the best punishment for these burglars if I could only find them:)
Take care and keep your chin up my friend

Come back quick, okay! And speaking of low-brow humour, how phallic are those cacti?! Sorry, I'm a vulgarian, I know :)
Chin up mate, we're thinking of you

The green smiley is for a beautiful photo, not for the miserable situation you're in. :-( I'm so sorry about the whole mess. The cactus and the view behind it really is stunning, though. Thanks for thinking of your TE friends, and we'll be thinking of you. :-)

That's a sad story Jason, I can imagine how *isse*-off you must be. I would feel as if my right arm had been chopped off if it had happened to me. Hope you get your gear back and are soon able to get behind your lens again. I like your cactus... the "V" shape is most appropriate! Good thoughts coming your way. Rosemary

can't believe that!
My jaw dropped when I read the note.
So sorry to hear that.
I know I'd be totally pissed if my camera gear was stolen....what about all your pics?
are they gone too?
Well, I have a way of dealing with those nasty criminals....when they're found - lets pin them to the cruelest Cacti Tree you can find!!!
try and stay positive!

This is on the most bad scenarios that can happen break in and steal everything.
I can absolutely understand, I hope that you can repair in future.
Happy that we get a nice picture now.
Excellent sharpness and clarity, we see almost all details, this is really so lovely.
Composition and presentation are pleasant to look at.
Very well done, TFS.

Man, here's a two-point smiley just out of sympathy! ;-)
Also, I like the idea that in this shot, I see a large middle finger lifted to the perpetrators!

I feel with you. This is a bad luck, but it is not end. I like your sense for humour. Something similar happened to me few years back. That day I was visiting factory of my friend to take some photos, after this I stop over in my golf club to hit some balls on the DR, then I went to office, a bit longer hours. I the office I got a call from my fried to join them for a drink. Took my car with the photo equipment, golf bag, and some office items in the booth.
After few beers came out but the car was not there, simply stolen with everything. Car was insured, content not. So is life, but I've also recovered from this.
Anyhow your photo is excellent. Superb arrangement in vertical format, excellent light and clarity. Well done.
Keep strong, do not loos your humour.

Sorry about the missfortune you endured, this describtion of yours rather written in most light way - I am sure this can drive mad even the most calm person.
But I see you keep posting beautiful photos like this one we see here, inspite all - great Arizona Cactus, and wonderful lake scenery behind.
Wish you will recover soon and keep up good spirit.
