This image was taken along the shore of Lake Powell just north and west of the Wahweap Marina, which is about 3 miles north of Page, Arizona. The evening was gorgeous and we had just come off a short cruise and decided to catch the sunset. While we were watching the sun set, I wandered over to another spot thinking I might find a better vantage point. This scene is what I discovered. As you can see, the warmth of the evening sun did wonders on these rock formations. Except for adding the border and resizing for TE, this image is unedited.

Wikipedia: Lake Powell is a man-made reservoir on the Colorado River, straddling the border between Utah and Arizona. It was created by the flooding of Glen Canyon by the controversial Glen Canyon Dam, which also led to the creation of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, a popular summer destination. The reservoir is named for explorer John Wesley Powell, a one-armed American Civil War veteran who explored the river via three wooden boats in 1869. In 1972, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area was established. It is public land managed by the National Park Service, and available to the public for recreational purposes. Lake Powell is arguably one of the most scenic reservoirs in America, situated in some of Southern Utah's finest red-rock desert country. Lake Powell provides zero water to any municipalities or farms or industries save for the tiny burg of Page, Arizona. Lake Powell was created to merely hold water at an invisible line created through politics and the 1922 Compact of the Colorado River. The reservoir continues to be a controversial issue for many Americans.
