Layers of colour and strata carved and shaped over centuries by water seen in the distance, beyond a huge ridge of red rock rising from the canyon floor to dominate the landscape, as seen from the south rim of the awesome Grand Canyon in the state of Arizona, USA.

How clever of you to completely crop out the sky like that, allowing us to concentrate on the textures and rich colours of the mountains. The vertical frame (my favourite) is a corker and you handled the light brilliantly. Congrats, I love your American Desert series.
And here's to a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year with lots of travel and beautiful beautiful photos.
Cheers, a toast and a hug

Nice, well done, but somehow many times seen!

The fg white craggy rocky outcrops add depth and enhance the tonal range. Good sharpness and a nice warm cold colour contrast between the blue hazy magenta bg and red rocks of the fg butte. The green tree at right adds a welcome splash of alternate colour. Have a great New Year!
