A view across the magnificent Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, with yet another rocky outcrop that tempts you to get even closer to the edge, for that ultimate shot. I dedicate this shot to "Az-man" Jason Cowling (jcpix) whose recent image of little people on this very spot prompted me to post this image.
Regrettably I have found it necessary to add a discrete watermark to my images posted on TE as some have been hi-jacked and are now being used commercially on other websites, without my permission.
I realise it is impossible to stop people sharing images once posted on the internet and I have no real issue with that, it is flattering to know that they like them that much………but to make money from them is another matter and infringes copyright.
My anti-virus software dislikes the forums on TE! So please do not think I am rude if I do not answer any comments or questions raised…………

A breathtaking view over the red strata of the Grand Canyon.
Your use of the f/g cliff top, appearing like a Chinese dragon, is very effective in producing a great sense of depth and colour contrast against the b/g.
Excellent dof and, as always, a fine understanding of composition.
Have a great day,

the inclusion of the rocks in the FG give the image a lovely depth to a breathtaking view across the Canyon, the wisps of green foliage add a nice touch to the colour palette as well as providing a little frame.
A stunning shot.
All the best Les.

Another stunning view, what an incredible result you've presented once again! An absolute shame that the park is currently closed since our lovely (insert sarcasm here) government can't get their act together!?
Thank you so much for the dedication...I have to say though, it's Mother Nature that did all of the real work here to create this natural wonder. :) I can't help but repeat myself in saying that the colors you're able to extract and the detail, compositions and overall execution have really given a sublime sense of the canyons beauty and immense size.
This does give the impression of being near the edge, the sensation with the memories so close in my mind gives me sweaty palms just looking at this! :)
I sure hope for that kind of sky too the next time I visit, that pink hue in the clouds is the feature for me that sets a most pleasing atmosphere to this shot. Impressive work. Thanks again, genuinely appreciated!
From the Grand Canyon state, my friendliest wishes!

As Jason said, The Hole in The Earth. But this is very picturesque and colourful Hole. Did you take a ticket for one week or you had a short daily trip here? This background with so grey&purple clouds reminds me the Martian Landscape. Well seen!
All the best wishes,

This series is absolutely amazing with the warm&cold intensive tonality of the place! Perfectly observed and executed scene with an interesting trees captured in the foreground to make the view really attractive. TFS.

A shot I cold never have taken Brian.... this looks just too near the edge! Excellent light on the feature outcrop pulls it away from the BG adding to the sense of depth. A fine shot of this majestic scenery. Have a great weekend Rosemary

Cioa Brian, sono tante, tutte belle e sempre diverse le foto che hai scattato nel Grand Canyon ed è sempre un piacere vederle non solo per il paesaggio ma anche per la bella interpretazione che hai dato a questo frnomeno naturale.
Ciao e buon fine settimana

I love the warm cold color contrast between the blue grey sky and the red sandstone gorges of the Grand Canyon. Excellent sharpness and the fg splashes of green from the trees add interest and range. I've seen shots of people sitting on fences posing for pictures with a sheer drop immediately behind them, and standing astride chasms. Not something I would do!

yes, a perfect photo for Jason to enjoy, and Serghei too.
its great that you were able to get some puffy cloud formations, and combined that with the color variances of the canyon its fantastic.
depth from above and below.
I'm sure Jason will appreciate it
