I had planned on a different photo for this posting, but was threatened by Craig (macjake) to show one or two more from the Grand Canyon…so I must oblige! :)
This is a seemingly generic shot, and not one that even comes close to viewing the canyon floor within the frame. What I did like about this however, is the small group of tourists at a lookout point near the top right corner…that should put everything into perspective here! We really are quite small in this most majestic setting of natures wonder.
The canyon itself is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and reaches a depth of over 6,000 feet (1,800 meters). For those that have visited, you understand the magnitude and inspiring nature of this place…and for those that haven’t made it just yet, take my advice…don’t wait as long as I did!?
Thanks for taking stopping by for a look.

haha, love the title. Though many would disagree, there is no saying otherwise when looking at a scene like this. Its actually on reading your note that I noticed the tourists, which says a lot when a large group of people like that is not instantly visible. That is some drop....
This really is an incredible place to have as a local attraction. I'd like to offer a deal, I'll swap you the Grand Canyon for 10 irish castles of your choice, and I'll throw in a ruined abbey. Though, the grand canyon would probably break Ireland in two, maybe I should think a bit deeper on that.
Great shot, and apologies for no green smiley, the site seems to be broken today and is not allowing me to post any.

Size really matters and so it is Grand. Nice capture again in vertical, the best suited frame for such scene. Good light and excellent depth. A very good one. Tfs.
PS- Cann't upload photo today due to some unknown reason. :(

something´s wrong seems to be today with these green smiling faces:)so without points, but of course it
doesn´t mean I don´t like your photo my friend.
Here we should also be thankful to Craig for urge you to upload this one:)
The place is beautiful no matter from where we admire it,but here your choie of vertical format gives really excellent sense of scale(enhanced additionally by the view platform in the far distance).
Amazing composition and breathtaking view of the Grand Canyon.I´m really glad you decided to present this one to us.
Wish You all the best

something's up with the critiques today...says i have only 3 left but this is my first today....strange.
glad to see you took my threat seriously
I'd be sending the mob out after you soon!
did you know that several people have died falling down the cliff edge?
You know i'll take risks breaking into an abandoned homes, venture into 'do not enter' areas or into so called 'private' land, but man....seriously, don't stand so close to an edge where its hundreds of feet down!! Yikes!
I was amazed at how many people stood SOOOOO close to the edge. Its dirt, gravel, loose sediment people!!! it can give-way at any time!!
this photo shows a bit of that here.
and yes, we also see the huge depth I was talking about.
great shot, well worth the wait right! haha

Superb light condition over the steep cliff of the magestic place. Jason.
Nature's colors brought pout every detail on the unique earth formation. People stood over the edge gave a great scale to the fabulous picture.

I remember this place well and I think I was also one of those little people at the top of the screen when here in 2011! This shot does give us a great idea of the scale of the canyon together with all the different layers, colours and textures. Beautiful imagery!
Internet connection fixed now - I hope!
First really cold autumnal morning here on the south coast of blighty :-( - I expect you are basking in heat. :-).

Il faut bien faire attention pour ne pas glisser car la descente sera longue et la fin douloureuse.J'aime beaucoup les différentes strates de couleurs qui animent cette falaise vertigineuse.

Hehehe I won't go into the merits - or otherwise - of your title. But safe to say that the Grand Canyon is very grand and looks amazing. I love that range of colours and textures in the rock face, the rule of thirds framing is spot on and the way you handled the harsh light is admirable. Top job!
Have a lovely evening

Does size really matters? But of corse in this context here it surely does. The tiny flock of people perched atop the impressive cliff puts one really in ones place here and one can only admire the awe inspiring view over the famous canyon here.
have a great evening

Impressive view of the Canyon and I also like the tiny figures of people ad miring the view. you waited a long time to see this wonder, really. I wonder what else in Arizona you haven't seen yet. I must look at your gallery and mine :). Good title :). I have already the plans for a photo with this title.
