What can I say, the canyon is indeed…grand! Whoever named it certainly chose the perfect title. I know this has been pictured more than its fair share of times, but I just can’t resist the urge to post one of my own. This of course being a more traditional view, showing the dry and rugged nature of the canyons formations.
It really is an inspiring wonder of nature, this vast open space having been carved out by thousands of years of handy work from the Colorado River is truly a sight to behold. I can only imagine the views from down below are just as overwhelming at first sight.
Although I don’t quite have the same kind of post processing skills as many others here which I find most admirable, I hope this still conveys a good sense of the colors that this land possesses. Thanks again to Serghei for being the driving force which finally resulted in witnessing this site for the first time. :) Have a great new week everyone.
Thanks for taking a look.

This surely does capture the colors, its amazing how rich and varied they are through the striations in the rock, I guess the red color comes from it being rich in iron. This is one might big hole in the earth, and an amazing piece of the earths history that we can still enjoy today. It looks almost like a lunar landscape, but for the beautiful blue sky above it.
I guess beautiful blue skies are a standard feature in this rather hot place. Its a dizzying view too, I love those shots that make me step back a little from the PC screen in case I fall in :)
All the best

i still don't really understand this site. this is a good posting, up until me 40 views and no comments, the mind boggles.
anyhow, i like the colouration throughout, and the more i look at it the more i have an understanding of how deep this place is. my daughter was lucky enough to go with her school but as yet i have not been able to go, some day.

Good morning Jason,
Majestic earth colors from the edge of the Canyon, every color that exist on nature has its fair share on your photo.

Vraiment extraordinaire de voir toutes ces strates dans le roc , toutes avec des couleurs différentes pour bien nous montrer leur texture. Le point de vue est à couper le souffle.

who could resist such a view!No matter how often I see pictures from Grand Canyon,I´m everytime delighted by its beauty and amazed what nature has created(ok.and then I asked myself why it´s not in Germany or Poland:)
My friend you´re such lucky man living in Arizona.
I like your POV with high led horizont line and color scheme of the image.Great to see how nicely intertwine each other green and red shades.
You do not even know how much I envy you guys the meeting and so breathaking views.
Wish You all the best

Indeed, lots of wonderful reddish and purple tones, beautifully completed with the greenery on the foreground.
A fantastic natural phenomenon, and not only because of its size.
You imagine the views from down below. That makes me wonder why I never see pictures taken at the bottom of the canyon. Of course not that many people will make the descent. Yet some will also have been down there. Or perhaps I must have missed those pictures here ...
If I understand correctly, you had never seen the canyon before Serge's visit. I'd think that the Grand Canyon would be the first journey for a resident of Arizona. This being said, I realize that I haven't visited all the places in my own country where foreign tourists especially come for :)
Best regards, Paul

yeah, you'd BETTER post another photo or two of this Iconic subject, having lived nearby for so long and only getting to it now! lol
this photo is exactly what we expect from a good Grand Canyon photo, lots of color variances, lots of depth, and lots of deepness - if you know what i mean. If a photo of the canyon doesn't really show off the depths down below, it doesn't really succeed as well.
keep them coming.
see ya later!

Hi, Jason, my dear friend,
This is very picturesque hole, I think. Wonderful colors!!!
The nature is the best painter, we must to press a button of our cameras. ))) You did this operation very good. I really like this view, I don't have a time for processing of my photos.
All the best wishes from the rainy NYC!

Hi Jason, isn't it funny that you, living in Arizona, went to grand Canyon only when the guest from far Siberia came to you? It is what I like in TE so much, making friends and learning about the world and places far and close. Good title, it is indeed huge hole in the earth. Excellent picture, great depth and marvelous colours.

colourful and beautiful shot of the GC. It is so special when you stand on the edge and admire the view. It is an assault on the senses and difficult to capture on camera but this does it for me. Awesome!
Have a good week - Brian.
My broadband is still unstable and I am slowly losing my rag trying to get on-line, so you may be the only critique I manage today ;-(

A difficult choice but I think this is my favourite of your Grand Canyon series. My eye was drawn particularly to the red/ochre tones that seem to dominate this image. Again, beautiful sharpness and depth. This place just seems infinite, and every day, every change of light would reveal something new. If you lived here everyday of your life, you'd get a different photo for every time of day I reckon.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely Sunday

Hi Jason. The range of colours definitely impresses and as for the view, what can one say that hasn't been already said? I like the choice of POV and the light as well. Regards. Klaudio.
