Photographer's Note
Flagstaff, Arizona, was a fairly ordinary city, but I did shoot this. I saved most of my film shots for the nearby Grand Canyon. Flagstaff is about a mile above sea level, so the intense blue sky is natural, albeit polarized.
"Flagstaff (Navajo: Kinłání) is a city located in northern Arizona, in the southwestern United States. In July 2006, the city's estimated population was 58,213. The population of the Metropolitan Statistical Area was estimated at 127,450 in 2007. It is the county seat of Coconino County. The city is named after a Ponderosa Pine flagpole made by a scouting party from Boston (known as the "Flagstaff Tea Party") to celebrate the United States Centennial on July 4, 1876.
Flagstaff lies near the southwestern edge of the Colorado Plateau, along the western side of the largest contiguous Ponderosa Pine forest in the continental United States. Flagstaff is located adjacent to Mount Elden, just south of the San Francisco Peaks, the highest mountain range in the state of Arizona. Humphreys Peak, the highest point in Arizona at 12,633 feet (3,850 m), is located about 10 miles (16 km) north of Flagstaff in Kachina Peaks Wilderness."

Hello Chris,
Good point of view to present the architecture to best advantage. The dark polarised sky makes a splendid contrast with the rich red tones of the stonework. Very good sharpness.

Hello Chris ,
What a sky ! and what a contarst with the red bricks of the building .The sharpness is outstanding , too . The little distorsion and the part of shade don't bother me at all . But , may be , the branches in the corner were not necessary .
regards
Denis

Hi Chris,
Very interesting use of colours, light and shadow, they contribute much to make it quite eye catchy. The main colours (red, green and blue) are all nicely saturated and make a very good looking contrast. The shadow on the FG, so often annoying works well here. I like also the compo, with the tower to the left.

José

I'm not sure about this dark area but...anyway, I like the pic.
Nice colours in the building, which has all the focus then.

Hi Chris,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The trees are framing the building. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the clocktower and of the building. There is a good contyrast betweem the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.é

Hello Chris,
This is an interesting building. I really like its architecture though I know is too elaborate. The sky does create a good contrast against the brownish building. A lovely show.

Bonjour Chris,
une photo très retravaillée qui ne perd rien de son charme après cette moulinette. Le charme des couleurs vives qui se marient bien et celui d'un ciel bleu très amical.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hello Chris,
I notice this nice building has pretty much the same colour as the desert rocks!
And you're right, rare to see a sky as intensely blue as this...
Well framed, good details!

Hi Chris,
Would not expect to see such an old building in this part of the west.
Very nice light brings out rich details and textures to this lovely brownstone with looks impresseve aganist the deep blue sky.
