This is the view looking up Main Street of Goldfield Ghost Town. Quite a grand boulevard, huh? Now, you may be asking yourself, “Is this a genuine “ghost” town, because I don’t see any signs of life?” Well, to answer that, and Claudes (CLODO) question regarding any missing cowboys…there’s really no mystery here, I simply dragged my sorry self out of bed at the crack of dawn this particular morning to be there at 05:30 to catch the first light of the day. The cowboys, and all others for that matter, were still fast asleep.
It would be more fun though if it did include a few tumbleweeds, bandits or some of the Old West gunslingers, hearing the “cling-clang” of their spurs as they walk the dusty streets, or at least some horses tied up at the saloon…or better yet, Clint Eastwood! :) If you look close enough though, there is at least a mannequin sitting on the porch of the foreground building down near the bottom right. Lifeless for sure, but it’ll still catch you off guard when there’s no one else around!
Thanks for taking a look.

5.30A.M?You should get two additional points for your sacrifice my friend:)
But seriously-the morning, warm light and the fact the scene is completely devoid of people creates here unique atmosphere,as if all people hid because Billy the Kid or Jesse James arrived in town:)something like this anyway(wow,is it not a good idea for a new western?:)
Another magnificent composition showing us the uniqueness and beauty of your state. And definitely was worth to get up so early.
The end result is captivating!
Wish You a nice sunday

Bon Dimanche mon ami.

No bandits at 05:30 in the morning, but sure they will come - if you courage enough to be there later on the day...
Nice western-movie scenery, good DOF and clarity on photo.
Have a nice Sunday,

Hello JAson ,
Your serie is really excellent . What a good idea to wake up early in the morning to take pictures ! The lateral and warm morning light , combinated with the cloudy sky , provides a splendid effect . The perespective is very well chosen ,too .

namaste, another excellent composition from this ghost town. Interesting atmosphere with those cottages, the vacant road. Excellent presentation with nice soft morning light, sharp details and good contrasting colours. Excellent shot. Tfs.

At the best of times I find mannequins to be really creepy, but put one in a scene like this and you have a perfect image to sok me out. It's a really cool iðea to have it here, wouldn't it be great if you went into the bar and there was a row of them in mid can-can. I like this main street a lot, and my eye is drawn to the circular green building which I am guessing to be the local hotel.
I always say that even though I like living in the country, I also like to be near a big urban centre, I can't comprehend these days when this scene would be as urban as you would find in an entire country. I guess every major city starts this way though.
The light on this scene is really excellent and the sky is a beautiful backdrop.

Une belle ambiance de cow-boy!
Encore une réussite cette réalisation,j'aime beaucoup, cela me rappelle les films que je regardais lorsque j'étais jeune.

Excellent view to old Goldfield Town so very well captured in gorgeous colors and beautifully composed. Your POV is simply incredible; I really like this with the wooden houses especially the dominant brown has brought so much interest to this shot, wonderful detail and contrasting so superbly against the blue. Today a very tranquil place. Superb photo.

so this is the over-view shot eh!
Imagine this place with horses and carriages strolling through the sandy road! and imagine the smell!!
good and bad i suppose....I think I'll stick to my modern day scenario!
Imagine what people will think of our roads and streets 200 years from now!
another fine shot with the wickedly blue colored skyline combined with some orangey/yellow warm light too.
only thing missing is a real shoot-out in the middle! lol

Hi, my friend,
Believe me, it is very different emotion to see this photo BEFORE and AFTER visit.
Now I can say, that this street is very familiar to me. Good perspective, it seems me so close there.
Best wishes! I hope you will rest after 4-days rally at least.
I am recharged after ROCK of AGES today.
