Scrolling through my archives I found photos from my trip to the American Southwest. I have already described with details my visit to the Antelope Canyon. You can read about this place and my trip in the note under my first photo (CLICK HERE). Here one of the most intriguing rock formations. My Navajo guide suggested it is a bear, my wife says it is a horse. What do you think it is?

a place that I would just love to visit. It looks amazing and an experience that must stay with you. This is a stunning capture and one that looks like the inside of a volcano, with eye-catching reds and tones that look so beautiful. To me it looks like some surreal god holding out his arms to welcome you. Glorious!
Have a great weekend - Brian.

I'm afraid my imagination is insufficient to find the bear or the horse but the colours of this canyon are amazing. So many different shades of red and so many of them are fiery red!
You must have felt like you were in the hot interior of the earth.
Excellent view upwards towards the light.
Best regards, Paul

Si il y a un endroit aux Etats Unis que je voudrais voir et photographier, c'est bien celui-ci.
Tu as su magnifier la lumière et les formes torturées de l'endroit. C'est de toute beauté.

What a place this is! I have to be honest and admit that I only learned of it through Trekearth, but what a place to learn of. The colors are so strange almost like an active volcano, and the light effects are really beautiful. The smooth sheen to the walls creates such magical images, as you prove so wonderfully here.
All the best

A horse... he's standing on his hind legs with knees pulled up as he prances with mane flying. I see no bear here Mariusz! A place I would love to visit one day, each photograph of it looks different with individual interpretation and colour management. This one is lovely with the details clean and clear. Is it usual to be allowed to take a tripod down here? It makes such a difference quality-wise. Super! Warm regards Rosemary

I dont see the bear nor the horse but i see a fantastic picture with amazing colors and curves. Great! Congratulations.
danos (78124) 2013-10-19 9:58
fascinating the view as the presentation of this section of the Antelope canyon, with the rock formation to really looks like a bear as tries to come out of the hole. The falling light creates these spectacular 'waters' on the sides of the rocks.

You have given us a wonderfully interesting note as well as a fabulous photograph with which to illustrate it.
I must say that I am not very good at visualising abstract things in images but I'm just happy to feast my eyes on the beautiful forms and colours in this excellent photograph. Your composition is delightful and the tones and textures are superb. Beautiful vibrant colours, wonderful light (and light control), perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Hello Mariusz: Your wife is right. It does look more like a horse than a bear. Antelope Canyon is spectacular and a fun place to take photos. I'm lucky enough to have been there twice.
Nice color saturation and light management and great choice of subject. I don't think I have seen this view before of the canyon.
Greetings from Flordia................Greg

It's not the first time I've seen a picture of this canyon in TE, it really seems a spectacular place ! I love the warm tones and the shapes of the rocks. It might be difficult to find such a nice framing in a so narrow place.
romanaa (7644) 2013-10-19 12:51
fantastic, it is like flames, cannot see the bear, but wonderful picture anyway. The colours are just stunning.
ifege (9909) 2013-10-19 22:57
Superb one Mariusz - great colour and light management with dramatic rock formations.

A classic from Antelope Canyon. Yes, I see a horse, or bear, maybe a cheetah, but I think horse are more likely in this area :) Love the fiery rock like fire glowing form within.
lgir (6651) 2013-10-20 7:41
je ne vois pas forcément une représentation animale, mais en tout cas les couleurs et l'effet drapé sont magnifiques.
abmdsudi (32509) 2013-10-20 9:13
Wonderful nature wonder with its mag rock formation! just awestruck by this beauty. The looking soft textures, subtle light, colors and shadows create so much depth within the limited space and such crispiness. This is just fab in every aspect. A wonderful opportunity and so well taken. Exquisite capture, Congrats.

It must be a fantastic place to visit ! The textures, the light and the colours are incredible. Very good shot !

Impressive colors and hues... This red structure reminds me the sandstone in Jordan Petra. Outstanding art work! I always say the Nature is the best artist! )))
Yes, Bulent said me that the museums were closed, but I got realized all my plans in the US trip. Without some problems.
marabu61 (5877) 2013-10-21 6:45
For me a bear seems more apropriate than a horse, so I think the indians where quite right here.
As usual Anilope canyon lives up to its reputation in this gorgeous composition. The rocks are so beautifully illuminated and the different kinds of reds and yellows are sublime.
have a great day

I think a lovely painting, what I like is that we can adjust the light and colour, to create an artistic image with what nature has provided.
Excellent composition, good of colours.
Very well done, TFS.

The famous canyon have good "reputation" here on TE, and well justified reason, marius.
Its incredible red and orange colors, played by unique light created by rocks curves - and you very well conveyed the phenomenon on picture.
Managed well the mild lighht, superb colors and clarity.
gervaso (9247) 2013-10-22 8:31
Your picture looks like an abstract art! The colors are fantastic, and the perfect light management helps giving this very nice texture to the stones! Wonderful composition! Well done!

Ciao e buona serata

GREAT SHOT. Lovely view. The colour tone is most interesting to enjoy. You did a very well job according compose a tight frame using a nice POV. Depth and sharpness are just fabulous. Enjoyed it a lot. Tfs.
adramad (30945) 2013-10-23 8:04
My imagination is not prepared to see animal shapes in the rocks, but my view if it is to appreciate the beauty, and what is this great composition, the curious rock shapes are very interesting, but mostly the color range is spectacular .
A very bright image with optimum clarity.
Enjoy a nice day.

Witaj dear Mariusz
Isn't it great finding a treasure like this in your archives? This one's a beauty, with superb tight framing, amazing colours and light management. The textures are stunning and you've taken one of those places on the Photographic Bucketlist and made it your own. Sensational photo, thanks for sharing.
Have a great Sunday
Didi (51307) 2013-11-03 18:09
This is an awesome place you are able to play with lights at any time
Very good sharp picture
annjackman (15541) 2013-11-04 23:54
I love this picture, it is full of warm colours and has great sharpness. We visited there the year after you (indeed I posted on TE) but we were with a large group and it was very hard to use a tripod so all mine were hand held and therefore lacked good sharpness. The water-carved canyon is shown expertly in your stunning image.
Kind Regards, Ann

I am always amazed to see photos from this canyon, one day I shall come see this face to face. Lovely colors and textures! Nice framing as well, as always!
