Our world is lush because we receive an average of thirteen feet (yes,feet!) of rain a year here in SE Alaska. Armed with raingear and rubber boots, we savor the tranquility and solitude of places like Ward Lake.

I really like the mood of this photo.The different shades of green with the mist in the background really emphasize your point. Something rather striking about this image is that There is no sign of human influence. There are no swim areas, or man made beaches. Very interesting. Good post.

Hello Judy,
A really lovely atmosphere in this beautiful shot. Very beautiful colours in spite of an overcast weather. A pleasant composition.
The trees are indeed different from ours as you mentioned in your comment to my recent photo. The tall spruces seem to be dominating the landscape while in Finland the pines (Pinus sylvestris) are most common. Thanks for sharing!
