Photographer’s Note

Misty Fjords National Monument is a large tract of glacial fjords accessible by boat or float plane from Ketchikan, Alaska. It's a world of 3,000 foot cliffs and equally deep ocean waters which are calm because they're protected from the open sea. This is a stunning landscape inhabited by bears, mountain goats, and other wild things. It's a spiritual experience to visit this place, one which visitors don't soon forget.

A stunning landscape, not many places like this left on the planet!
The moment is well chosen as the short but hectic summer meets winter, the old aircraft makes a contrast but somehow fits in all the same...

Very majestic indeed, that's a real beauty, you have produced with a fine light management to produce vivid colors. Moreover you had that plane landing at the right moment - I know that was luck - but it looks like you arranged it. In particular I like the forest, I would love to smell it. Excellent sharpness and DOF as well - well done

Excellent vertical combination of float plane, forest, and glaciated mountains.

I camped in Ketchikan on my first Alaska trip and was amazed at the number of float planes for hire.
