Photographer’s Note
Mendenhall Glacier, behind Alaska's capitol city of Juneau, is foreboding, even as its many icy fingers recede. The wetlands in the foreground turn to grasses and forest as the earth warms, and the icefields themselves cover many square miles in the backcountry.

Hi Judy
Is this another of these shrinking glaciers? I hope not, we already have enough of them in Europe. The global warming is taking its toll of fauna and flora worldwide. It is a bit moody shot, like telling us, that winter is around the corner. Nice flowers, laid out like a carpet. Fine colors and adequate sharpness. Well done
Best regards
Urs
