Photographer’s Note
Clouds play on the surface of Perseverence Lake as two sisters share a pleasant afternoon in comfortable companionship.
Perseverence Lake is a high-country destination for the hardy hiker in the backcountry of SE Alaska. Accessed by boardwalk and steps built over muskeg swamp and up the side of a mountain, the almost three-mile trail begins at Ward Lake, several miles north of Ketchikan, the southern-most community in SE Alaska.

I like the nice comfortable human element introduced into your environment, Judy. One sister seems warmer-blooded than the other -- and from the little ripples on the water I sense it's a cool day. The light is beautiful.

Hello Judy,
I like the composition here very much, with the sky's reflections on the water creating a glow for the backdrop of the sisters. The light management is flawless. Your images of Alaska are veritable classics.

Nice intimate situation captured here, these girls must be talking about somthing important, the surface of the water is really interesting, the play of lights on it is simply jaw-dropping.
Thank you Judy, for your kind comments on my uploaded images, however technically they are as good as your ones.

hi Judy
If you think Alaska has very few photo opportunity, you must be holding back your good photos :)
I see a dog at the right being cropped? Wow, how I like to see a full view.
This is a common scenery in any place but the strong part of the photo must be the POV you have chosen looking down and the 2 girls placed at the best position to make the photo much more interesting.
Especially the girl with blue, purple and red is a great feature, whereas the other girl is dressed in warmer clothing.
A fine photograph.

Dear Judy
Clearly your picture of the twosome is so much more idyllic then my traffic jam shot. But how can I compare the two shots? Your picture is a harmonic combination of rock and water with some clouds reflection. What these two women may be talking? Very well composed and executed.
Best regards
Urs

Hello Judy,
A good POV and really beautiful rippled reflections of the clouds. The two girls are very essential part of this composition. Wonderful mood. Thanks for the very welcomed map reference!

Hi Judy,
The dog seem a bit distracting not being entirely inside the frame. Aside from that the image seem peaceful. The two sisters sitting there give this composition an interesting focal point. The texture of the water is also unusual, almost like rain is falling on it. Nice work Judy :-)

Hello Judy -
This is a very serene image with the two sisters in the FG and the soft reflections of the lake. I can almost feel and hear the solitude of the area. I am not sure about the dead branches inching in from the left but the others work well as a framework. Well seen.
Thank you for sharing.
John
