Photographer’s Note
Perseverence Lake provides a peaceful, solitary experience for those interested in hiking into the backcountry of our island in SE Alaska. Fed by snowmelt, these waters are cold, but it's a pleasure to sit in silent contemplation and listen for the sound of wolfsongs across the lake.

Judy,
This is a nice shot with an outstanding reflection. The reflection adds depth and balance for the scene. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail. The curving row of rocks lead the eye into the shot nicely.

I think I know this place! The same lake, same gorgeous rocks and same Japanese-looking pines but differently -- and beautifully -- composed. Just lovely.

Dear Judy,
I love this brave composition focusing on the reflection of the pine on the surface of water. In a way it has a Japanese accent because of perfectly balanced, idealistic, clear structure of nature.
Thank you for sharing, Jalab

Hello Judy,
This spot looks so peaceful, and you captured a beautiful mirror image. We get to see the entire tree, but in reverse. :-) I can almost feel as if I am sitting there on the rocks enjoying the view.

Hi Judy,
I have finally caught up a little in TE and am commenting your photo finally. A good closer view of your beautiful lake. I like the composition and the reflections are wonderfully clear. Good natural colours, excellent contrast and sharpness. Also here I have a strong feeling of being there sitting on those stones and enjoying the lovely nature :-)
Greetings from rainy Espoo,
Lasse
P.S. I found the lake in my map here.

Judy,
I love reflection even if they are not 100% perfect as in your case. Personally I would had included the tree making the reflection as well in the shot. What is done is done. Your otherwise nicely composed picture has everything what it needs, good colors, DOF and sharpness. Well done.
Best regards
Urs

Hi Judy,
Perfect nice reflection.
We could say you put there a mirror ;-)
The rocks are also very interesting; they seem like some in Scandinavia.
Greetings from sunny, warm Portugal,
Francisco
