Sunrise in Alaska Photo

Photographer’s Note

Taken at at the end of September at sunrise on the coast of Alaska. This is the small boat harbor that sits at the end of Prince William Sound.

I have uploaded another shot of this same angle two months ago.

In this current photo, you will see the first snow of the season in the mountain peaks. Snow usually hits sea level two months or even later. It is not unusual to have no snow until December, though this is the snow capitol of Alaska.

I had a difficult time with this shot. It turned out very grainy. I adjusted the colors and contrast. Then, I finished up with a pass through NeatImage.

Great view. All shots from Alaska are most welcome. Definatly one of the most beautyfull places on Earth. And you captured it very nicely. The boats could use a bit more sharpness though. You might wanna try and do a unsharpenmask on that bit of the picture. The rest has good sharpness and colorsetting. Great job and TFS.

The pass through NeatImage worked really well from what I can see. The soft colors are just gorgeous!

I like the perspective view and the beautiful colors presented in this picture. A very well composed picture. The light effect on the mountains are amazingly captured. Well done.

I see you like photographing in the USA, Mae. The lighting and composition of this one make it a very dramatic and delightful image.The foliage in the foreground are perfect for holding the image in and the maountains suggest vistas beyond. Regards Kevin
