Photographer’s Note

Here is a third look at the the harbour in Valdez, Alaska. These harbour shots were taken approximately one month apart. There is a vast difference in scenery as the snow quickly melts and the vegetation begins to take hold.

This was taken early morning, yet hours after sunrise at about 7 am. I used photoshop to sharpen and crop an extensive amount of sky. Then used PhotoFiltre to add a small frame.

The current photo you are viewing was taken July 2005. I believe all were shot during the first week of each month.

In your photos I am fascinated by the contrasts of the sky and the beautifu mountaijns. I've never had the desire to visit Alask and then I've seen your photos...
The composition and framning are great and the depth you've captured is superb. Although this is a horizontal phot there's a vertical feelt to it, because of the plants and the masts and the hills all rising to the sky. beautiful colors as always.

Hi Mae, A nice view of the harbor with green foreground and white mountains as background. The reflections on the water is beautiful. A well taken picture with nice contrast, clarity, and depth. Well done.

Wow, 7 o'clock and already this light? That's great! I like this view of the harbour and all those masts very much. The composition is very good I think, well done!

Beautiful landscape Mae.
Excellents contrasts with the blue sky and the mountains.
Nice natural frame, very well captured.
The marina give you a good depth to your pic.

Nice picture. I wished you had taken the photo closer to the water. IMO the green hide and interesting part of the scene. Colors are amazing. Well done Mae
