Photographer’s Note
Here are our kayaks at the edge of the Valdez Glacier Lake. This lake is formed from the run off of the Valdez Glacier, and it very murky water which does not support any fish or other wildlife. There are large icebergs in the lake, and some ice caves (which you are able to kayak into, if they are stable enough!)...I will post a few pictures out on the lake and in the ice cave, as well as hiking on Valdez Glacier which you can get to by kayak.

Love the composition and even more so that the background shows not a blue lake with mountains lit by a glorious sunrise/sunset. The gray water and the low hanging clouds tell a much better story of exploring the far north.

Hi Jennifer,
I'm not really into kayaking into icy waters but your photo is very inviting.
Nice contrast over the grayish 'cold' environment.

Jennifer,
Atmosheric wilderness exploration shot. Only this afternoon I was reading about the frozen waterfall climbs in this area - and now frozn kayaking too. Any color so long as it's frozen seems to be the message.
Cheers
Colin
