Photographer’s Note

Hi all.

Another photo from Tracy Arm. This was taken on our way up towards the glaciers. As can be seen the weather cooperated and helped show the fjord at it’s best.

Definitely at its best. The sunlight is perfect lighting up this beautiful glacier running down the mountain. Then the calm water showing some reflection. I like how it's diagonal to you. Just an absolutely gorgeous location.

I prefer this one than your previous, it looks like a situation after the ice storm, a dramatic scene with the ice running down to the water. Colours and sharpness are well, great one. tfs

Hi Paul,
The vertical format was necessary to be able to catch the whole spectacular beauty of this landscape and its reflections on the water, that with its sheen and the ice floating it adds a lot of graphical interest to the composition.
Great work with the managing of the light and with the quality of the image and of the colors.

I like the shapes made by the line of snow down the mountain and its reflection in the water (like an inverted S).The light is very good and the little ice floes on the water are a good extra element in the scene. Well done

stunning paul,, the reflection of the snow and ice on the water leading you into the beautiful mountain scene is as i say stunnin are the ice flows normal or is it part of globle warming

Hi Paul,
your trip to Alaska is creating a cold impression in me. It is summer here (or should be). Good view against the mountains over the partly iced water. Wonderful contrasts in that capture even with its less colours. Very close to sepia I think, but very natural.

Hi Paul - what a miracle, this is probably the only photo of Tracy Arm that I've seen under sunlight, I like the mini icebergs that dot the calm water, which make the avalanche gully look like a thin glacier.

The soft light is quite sublime. The line of snow down the mountain and its reflection in the water creating a chevron looks very nice. The little ice blocks on the water are a good extra element in the scene...perfect in vertical format!

l'impression de froid est intense ici, j'aime voir ces langues de glace bien blanches se jeter dans le lac.
Trsè bon POV et un cadrage très réussi, le ciel n'étant pas ici le plus joli acteur.

impressive the view of this abrupt precipice with snows to have filled the whole landscape.I like the composition with the good perspective and the POV.The little pieces of snow on the surface of the fjotd and the reflections make this shot great .You have captured this remarkable view with as much majesty as one could imagine.

Hello Paul,
Really nice to watch the ice on water and thebig moutains behind half covered by ice half covered by vegetation, or simply without any of them with only dark rock to show.
The reflections on water add interest and break a bit the dark colour of water.

Extremely serene landscape shot here. The most attractive thing for me is the geometry of the glacier (or ice drift) touching the water and the reflection arching towards the camera. Nice range of colors as well; from sky blue to rich earthy tones of the mountain. Solid composition.

Paul, the framing and format of this landscape are superb. The idea of coldness is very well represented with the small icebergs in front and the snow packed mountain. Brrr, it is really starting to get cold! I like the minimal reflections in the water a lot.
