You must be brave to venture out in Alaska's winter at dawn, the coldest point. I use to go out and about before sunrise in the Sierra Nevada which is much warmer, but have decided to limit myself to sunset in the future due to the extreme cold.
Thanks for sharing,

It's a really beautiful capture of the light hitting the mountain peak at dawn.
I'm wondering why the mountain is so soft, ah, answered my own question, I just looked at your shot data, shutter speed 1/20th, I take it you were hand holding the camera. Bloody hell it would be hard to keep it steady in those temperatures, you must have been shivering a little???.
Too good not to post even with the focus issue.
Thanks for the shot.

You have caught the early rays of sun illuminating the peaks of the mountain well. A very atmospheric shot. Oh yes, the mountain is a little soft. With your lens having a image stabilizer of 3 steps, it still with 300 mm focal length and 480 mm 35 mm equivalent focal length would require 1/50 - 1/60 seconds exposure time for a non shaky result. That of course with free hand shooting. Anyway a lovely start for the day and a beautiful photo. TFS!
Greetings from again colder Espoo (16 C right now),

Another nice picture of this typical coastal atmosphere.
Tree in foreground is interesting but I think is little bit too much important.

Stunning scene of the strong late day glow cutting through the foggy mist.
The snow capped peak looks very impressive in the glow of dawn's early light.

I regret the blur of the tree in the foregound, but that was a gorgeous pink color on the side of the snowy mountain.
All the best,

The beautiful snowy mountain and lit up the last rays of the sun. Excellent depth of field.
